As the PSLE draws near, Paper 2 often feels like the most demanding part of the exam across subjects. It’s not just about what your child knows — it’s about how well they can apply that knowledge clearly, quickly, and accurately under pressure.
Paper 2 is where marks are gained or lost in seconds, and where focused, skill-based practice makes all the difference.
This week, Luminee’s new resources zero in on these exact demands — with targeted content for English, Math, and Chinese, all designed to prepare students for the most tested and score-heavy Paper 2 components.
Earlier this month, students were introduced to all 13 core problem-solving heuristics — including strategies like working backwards, drawing models, and making systematic lists.
Our new Heuristics Revision Booklet brings them together in one place, but with a shift: instead of just recognising each heuristic, students now practise choosing and applying the right strategy in context.
This builds two things that matter most during Paper 2:
English Paper 2 is a skills-based paper. Three sections, in particular, are crucial to securing marks:
🔹 Synthesis & Transformation (S&T)
Students must rephrase sentences with precision, preserving meaning while applying correct grammar rules. Marks are only awarded if both structure and meaning are spot-on — one small error (like the wrong connector or tense) can lose the mark.
🔹 Editing
In this section, students spot and correct errors in a short passage. It tests grammar, punctuation, spelling, and most importantly, attention to detail — a section that rewards sharp eyes and a strong foundation.
🔹 Comprehension Cloze
This is not guesswork. Students must fill in blanks using context clues, correct grammar, and logical flow — combining vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension in one task.
Our latest English Paper 2 drills reflect national exam format and difficulty, helping students sharpen accuracy, build control, and reduce costly errors.
Chinese Paper 2 also assesses a student’s ability to understand and apply language in context — and two components stand out:
🔹 完成对话 (Dialogue Completion)
Students must complete a conversation naturally, using language that matches the context, tone, and relationship between speakers. It’s about understanding how Chinese is used, not just memorising words.
🔹 阅读理解二 (Reading Comprehension II)
This section tests deeper comprehension — inference, character motivation, main idea extraction. Strong answers must go beyond quoting the passage; they need to be accurate, complete, and phrased appropriately.
Luminee’s new Chinese Paper 2 practice materials give students repeated, structured exposure to both sections, using PSLE-style passages and question types to build both fluency and exam-readiness.
Whether it’s:
Paper 2 challenges students to go beyond memory — and show what they can do with what they’ve learned.
This week’s Luminee content supports exactly that:
Together, they prepare students to sit for Paper 2 with more clarity, confidence, and competence.
